Welcome to the Edison High School Cheer website. Our cheer teams promote school spirit while also competing at the regional and national levels as a CIF-recognized sport. In addition to competition, our squads promote school spirit and pride by attending a variety of events including sporting events, rallies, community events, community service, and support our strong athletic programs at Edison High School
Edison High School cheerleaders are expected to meet rigorous standards, both academically and in personal conduct. Edison cheerleaders are leaders on campus, in the classroom, and in the community!

2026 Summer Kids Cheer/Dance Camp
8/10, 8/11, 8/12 (Mon-Wed) 9am-12pm
9am-12pm (check in begins at 8:30am) at Edison High School in Huntington Beach, CA
Kids ages 4-13, come spend the mornings with the Edison Cheer Team and Dance Team learning cheers, dances, playing games, and fun!
No cheer or dance experience is necessary to attend camp! Our camp is geared towards all skill and ability levels!
The cost is $160, sibling discount available each, sibling camp cost is $100 per sibling and includes instruction, daily snack (no nut products are served for snack, gluten and dairy free snack options are available), a t-shirt, bow and poms and admission for your camper into the EHS Varsity Football Game-Friday, 8/28 to cheer the first half of the game and perform at halftime.
Campers will perform for parents/guests at 11:45am on the last day, Wednesday 8/12 at the Edison campus football field (field is located closest to Magnolia).
Registration and payment must be completed by Sunday, July 26th guarantee t shirt at camp check in.

26-27 Team Mandatory Tryout Information Parent Meeting-Thurs, March 5th, 2026 6-7pm in Room 248 at Edison HS, see the tryouts tab of this website for more detailed information. - Tryouts will be held March 31-April 2nd for the 2026-2027 season. Completed applications are due by Monday, 3/30 at 3:15pm. Early applications are accepted and encouraged.

- No Minimum tumbling requirement for incoming freshmen for JV sideline
- Tryout requirements: minimum GPA of 2.0, positive teacher evaluations from the English teacher, math teacher, and 3rd teacher of choice, a positive attitude and willing to work hard and learn, year-long commitment. Cheerleaders are not eligible to participate in any other sports at EHS/APA/or all star-cheerleading programs.
- Cheerleaders will be enrolled in 6th period cheer for both the fall and spring semesters and are not eligible to participate in other Edison sports. Cheer will earn PE class credits.
- We Cheer at football and basketball games as well as some baseball games and other EHS sports/events. We perform at rallies and community events.
- All practices, games and competitions are mandatory. Some events are evening and weekends, and on school holidays or during school holiday breaks. We make every attempt to plan out the calendar of events as far out as possible, but sometimes there are last minute schedule changes due to facility availability, coach’s availability, and school/community events we will be attending.
- Spring practices begin right after spring break on Monday, April 13th, and are after school at Edison 6:15pm-9pm (ehs gym), Tuesdays, Wed. and Thursday 3-6:15pm
- Summer practices begin July 13th and go through school starting at the end of August.
- USA Overnight Cheer Camp July 20-23
- August is a very busy month with overnight summer camp, mini camp, and football season begins mid August. Please avoid scheduling vacations during late July/August.
